Operation Christmas Child – 460 shoeboxes donated

Primary students prepare gifts for children in need.

Every year, Primary students and their families give to Operation Christmas Child. Run by the charity Samaritan’s Purse, this project seeks to bring joy and hope to children around the world through gift-filled shoeboxes. The purpose is to remind children in need that they are loved and valued by God and our Christian community. Thanks to the generosity of our students, staff and families, we have prepared 460 shoeboxes to bless children at Christmas.

In each school term, there’s an opportunity for students to make a difference for God and for good through our Community Outreach Taskforce.

  • Term 1 – Compassion Australia – Students donate a gold coin (or more) towards sponsoring a child through this charity, helping provide Christan teaching and discipleship, education, vocational training and life skills.
  • Term 2 – The Ivory Project – Students contribute to providing baby clothing, hygiene products and nappies to vulnerable new mums in hospitals around Brisbane by donating a gold coin or more.
  • Term 3 – Access Street Vans – Students contribute to this local Christian charity feeding people in Brisbane who are hungry and homeless by donating a gold coin or more.
  • Term 4 – Operation Christmas Child – Students fill shoeboxes with toys, school supplies and fun gifts. Charity Samaritan’s Purse shares the boxes and the good news of Jesus Christ with children in need.
